Y’all. I adore 1940’s & 1950’s Musicals. John Wayne Westerns..YES!! Doris Day, Maureen O’Hara..brilliantly strong actresses. (My movie faves are an entire week of their own quite honestly.) Yet, then there is MARVEL. Particularly the Avengers movies.
I. LOVE. THEM. They bring a core of heroes together that use their different strengths and powers to fight a common enemy. Every single one has a different personality. A different look. But they are SO fun to watch in action! One of our children went Thursday to see the new Avengers End Game movie and I was adamant that he not spoil a single moment of the movie till “I” could get to go! Y’all.. I’m still geeking out over it🤭😁🤪 (And I assure you, I WON’T spoil it for any of you who plan to go). I can tell you though..I connect with the Avengers because they are so much like we are, as followers of Christ. *Not in the way these characters live their personal lives (disclaimer😇), but in the way they take on darkness and battle it with ALL they’ve got! That’s us. ..or it should be us?! It gets hard battling on our own sometimes..but let me remind us.. WE DO NOT FIGHT ALONE. EVER. And beloved, whatever Goliath continues to stand in your way, bringing fear and paralysis to your spirit. Causing you to freeze rather than moving forward.. it’s beaten. Already. The fight may still ensue and the strength within you needed.. but the End Game...??? 👊🏼 D.O.N.E. 👊🏼
Rise-up.. Keep moving. One prayer at a time. And let the Lord show you what a true Avenger can do..!!💪🏼☝🏼🙏🏼 #avengers #marvel #god #fight #endgame #gripandgrace
I don’t have a picture of this next favorite.. but, hang with me and see if you don’t feel the very, exact, same. **** Eyes. ****
Not the two things that just sit on the front of your face all day moving side to side. But the two things on the front of a face that “Light Up” and “Sparkle” and “Search Until They Find You!”. THOSE are the eyes I’m talking about! Those moments where you watch your son or daughter learn to ride their bike and they look to see if your watching! The Highs when your child gets his first hit of the season and as soon as he’s safe at 1st, you see those shiny eyes gleaming toward you from under his baseball cap! School & church programs, where the children all file in to their spots and your little one searches the crowd of faces till their eyes meet yours! Silent moments, when you aren’t close enough to encourage or re-assure from where you sit, but those eyes that are so comforted and safe when they meet yours, (no matter where you are...). THOSE are my favorite moments! THOSE are the memories I treasure within my heart. They aren’t all able to be captured on video or journaled about properly..but they are deep and they are Special. May our children always find us watching. Always Ready..to receive their hopeful eyes and return to them the same glimmer that says “I’m so very proud of you’. ALWAYS.. #eyes #favorites #proud #always #gripandgrace
