Update on our sweet Ben..
Monday, March 25th is drawing near. This day was planned before we even left the hospital. A scan. A very long and grueling one. Vanderbilt blocked off their MRI machine just for Ben. He will lay in it for four hours from 1:00pm-5:00pm as they try and get new images of his brainstem and spinal cord. What wasn’t planned at the time was their new possible diagnosis of something called NMO. -Don’t look it up. The life expectancy pops up and no parent should have to see that. Ever. *What I hear depends upon my spiritual attitude. -it always has.
My God excels against very great odds. I know what Vanderbilt has said. I know what they’re eagerly expecting to find. Ben’s case has been “fascinating, impressive and complex”. All great words unless they’re being used to describe the medical condition of your child. Here’s the thing.. the book of Isaiah says,
WHEN. GOD. TAKES. ACTION. THE. MOUNTAINS. SHAKE.
So far we’ve witnessed nothing but miracles in Ben’s illness. He breathes..when he should not. He talks..when he should not. He stands..when he should not. He walks and laughs..when he should not. And he SEES..when he should not. It feels like a year in my realm..but Monday marks only Day 32. In the brainstem world that isn’t a lot of time for healing to have taken place. HOWEVER, our prayers are that when Ben shows up for the two hurdles now placed before him..our GOD will continue to show out🙏🏼 Monday:
10:30AM -VEP test for NMO
1:00PM-5:00PM - MRI
Prayers that these tests and scans will not only ‘fascinate & impress’, but that God’s glory and Mighty hand will continue to firmly grip the body and spirit of our Ben🙏🏼 In the meantime..we can all turn to Isaiah 64 and set our worries against those first five verses of Hope💪🏼 #FocusOnTheLIGHT
Love to you all~
