Welcome to GRIP & GRACE! I’m Donna and you can pretend I’ve just shaken your hand and said, “it’s so nice to meet you, come on in!” I’m a mother to four incredibly different and wonderful little (and not so little) children. I’ve been married to my Christ-following, engineering husband, Robert, for fifteen years. During that time, we’ve survived six home moves, two house builds, one dog, fifty something chickens (i lose count), and various critters that wander onto the farm.
Am I a farm girl? No. No I am not. I was a minister’s kid growing up and we lived in a sub-division in Lebanon, TN (shout-out to all the Lebanon peeps!). I know church-life much better than I know farm life. But, God is expanding my little horizons and I’ve been blessed with three boys and a curly headed girl and we continue to discover new things and friends each day.
Years ago, back in college, I would write notes and cards and sign them with, “In His Grip, Donna“. As the years rolled by, my salutations changed to “Blessings” or “Love“, etc. What started as a bible study group I called “A Place of Grace” soon turned into a little bit more and I discovered that grace is something we ALL are in need of. The Bible refers to Grace in this way:
“This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his GRACE through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus”. -Romans 3:22-24
If you know the Lord as your Savior, you are in His Grip. And let me tell you, there is no better place you can be. In a world where we’re on top of a mountain one minute and down in the valley the next (which can truly happen in a matter of minutes if your life is anything like mine), my thankfulness to be held in the grip of our Lord is the greatest pleasure I’ve had the honor of knowing for the past 30-something years..
So! Glad you’ve come. This picture is seriously the only one where my hair is not sticking straight out, my WORD at the wind we get out here! Look forward to getting to know you and we can catch up on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and “here” as we live in HIS grip and love in HIS grace!
